WANTED: Developers who can contribute to this open source initiative 
I have created a google project to put in some of the stuff that we have been working on and releasing through this blog. Some of the stuff that you can already download from Flexedtoolkit are -
- Autorefresher
- Client Idle Timeout
- Custom Alerts
- Custom Grid
I am working on a small component – CForms. The idea is to have a generic UI rendering engine that will create forms from an XML file. This is particularly useful in serious business applications where you have a lot of user entry screens. So, if the developer needs to have a screen, they just include something like -
<widgets:CForm controlsFile=”controls.xml” id=”VLAN”/>
Everything else – Styles, layout, look and feel etc. will be handled by the CForm component as per instructions in the abc.xml… Getting a picture?
We initially did this as part of my project requirements at work. And it was a life-saver. Now, I would like to extend it beyond what it is today. I want to make it more generic and feature rich so that others can leverage on it.

I could not get you correctly, Whether it was some thing like using infopath(MS). it also has the same features what u were trying to implement if its like that.. can u mail me clealy about that:)

Am not sure about Infopath, but lemme explain what i am trying to do here. Using the CForms component, the developer can create a entry screen by just creating an xml file like this -

<name>Learning Port</name>

and then in the mxml, using
<widgets:PropertySheet controlsFile=”controls.xml” id=”VLAN”/>

We were experimenting with similar approaches at work. We have one team that uses simple XML metadata and interprets that in the Flex code to display a table with columns.
Our team has used the JET engine in Eclipse to generate Flex code based on a Flex template we wrote.
But I think all teams would like to be able to pass in some descriptive metadata for the fields (for DataGrid or some editing form) and a reference to the server calls to retrieve and update. Then the Flex code would draw the edit form and populate it with data, for example.
Is this what you had in mind? There’s probably many ways to crack this problem. Is the metadata more like MXML, or WSDL (hope not), or even XHTML?

Hm, I’m very interested in the CForm component. At work we’re going to need to be able to dynamicly create forms in Flex with data of an database. This would be an very nice solution. Creating an XML of the needed data and Flex interprets that.
Do you have an estimate on when you could show more of this?
